If you try to log into multiple accounts on a particular website with two different identities, you may not be successful. This is because, Internet Explorer, by default, shares the same “session cookies” among all its tabs and windows. You can log into multiple accounts on a particular website like Facebook, Outlook.com, Gmail, Skype, etc., with two different accounts, using Internet Explorer in Windows by following this tutorial.

Sign In or Login multiple accounts

There is this IE option switch nomergeUse the –nomerge switch to log into multiple accounts of a particular website with two different identities, using  Internet Explorer in Windows.

This starts a new browser window in a new, unique session. Do note that even after using the –nomerge switch, you still have to open a new IE window and not just a new tab.

To start Internet Explorer in this mode, type iexplore.exe –nomerge in the Start search box, and hit Enter.

Alternatively, right-click one of the IE icons > Properties > Shortcut tab, and in the Target box add at the end: append nomerge. Apply > OK.

If this does not work for you in Windows 10/8, try the following:

  • Use a Local Account and try this
  • Use the noframemerging switch instead of –nomerge.

You can also log into multiple accounts by starting a new session as follows.

Right-click Internet Explorer title bar and select show the Menu bar. Here you will see the option to start a New session.

Hope this works for you.
