However, you can’t purchase any song from the Android market until the service is launched globally.
Actually, Google music traces your IP address before allowing you to use Google music. If they find that you are from outside of U.S, they will simply block the service for you showing message ‘This service is not available in your country’. However, The following workarounds can be helpful for those who are trying to use Google Music outside from United States from a long time.
Using Tor to mask your IP Address
As the service trace the user IP address, we can easily mask the IP address using a simple proxy software Tor. Tor comes in from of Tor browser bundle for Windows, Linux Mac. Click the following link to download your music bundle. It will automatically detect your operating system and serve the right bundle for you.
Once you download the package, you need to go through some editing and playing with the tool.
1. Now, run Tor and you should watch the ‘Vidalia Control Panel’. Wait for sometime allowing the application to get connected and then click ‘View the Network’.
2. It opens a new dialogue box showing various countries with their national flags at the left hand side. What the first thing to do is right-clicking on the U.S flag and selectingCopy > Fingerprint. This will copy the Node at your clipboard. Meanwhile, don’t copy anything else at your clipboard as the newer item will replace the copied content from your clipboard.
3. Click on the Close button and leave the Network Map dialogue box and go back to the‘Vidalia Control Panel’. Click ‘Settings’, switch to ‘Advanced’ tab and find out ‘Edit torrc‘ under that page. Select that and you should get a text editor opened.
4. Now you are required to add two lines and the Node that you copied earlier in the file with the help of the text editor. Add the following lines:
ExitNodes XXXXXXX
StrictExitNodes 1
Replace XXXXXXX with the copied node that you did earlier. After editing, it should look like this:
5. Save the file and close the editor. Restart TOR and wait for a while allowing TOR to open its browser. Now, try to login with your Google id at music.google.com. Once you are successful, you can set up Google music into any of your favorite browser. You can also download the Desktop client for Google music which is only available for the logged-in users.
Using HotSpot Sheild to hide your Non-U.S IP address
Another free VPN service that allows you to hide your original IP address is HotSpot Sheild. You can download this service without any cost. Once you get it at your computer, you can go for the sign-up procedure at Google music without letting it know that you are a non-U.S user.
