If you are not happy with the Taskbar Size in Windows 11 then you can easily increase or decrease the taskbar using Registry Editor. With the new release, many users are not comfortable with the Taskbar size.
With the transition to Windows 11, one can notice that the taskbar shares barely any resemblance with that of Windows 10. A lot of favorite features simply didn’t make the cut, and now, all applications are placed front and center by default, including the start button.
The taskbar is also fixed to the bottom of the screen, and unfortunately, there is a significant loss of control when it comes to taskbar customization.
This customization also includes taskbar resizing. No longer can users enjoy the accessibility of simply resizing the taskbar by going to the settings tab itself rather, it must be done manually.
If you want to change the size of the taskbar in Windows 11, you have to go to the Registry Editor and manually resize by following the steps below:
- Press Windows + R button together
- Type regedit.exe and hit the Enter button
- This will launch the Registry Editor program.
- Navigate to the below destination:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
- Right-click on Advanced and click New > Dword (32-bit) Value from the options listed.
- Rename it TaskbarSi.
- Double-click on it to set its value to
(a) 0, if you wish to make the taskbar smaller.
(b) 1, if you wish to revert the taskbar revert to the default medium size.
(c) 2, if you wish to enlarge the taskbar. - Now close the Registry Editor and Restart the system
Note: Make sure to take the registry backup just in case something goes wrong.
Your taskbar should be resized. If at any time you want to revert it the previous size then simply Delete the Dword from the same location and restart the system. This way you can easily resize as the Windows 11. I hope this will solve the issue.
